Position Summary:  The electronic repair technician repairs radios devices or infrastructure of the Secure Land Communication portfolio.

 Primary Responsibilities: 80%

  • Work regular schedule.
  • Set up, adjust and operate test equipment as directed or following a defined procedure.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repairs, certify and program radio units and accessories
  • Maintain and repairs servers and related hardware,
  • Install, update software on devices.
  • Document/validate incoming and outgoing assets, track repairs/RMA , Prepare shipment, follow up status of repairs with factory in Europe or with domestic partners.
  • Assist in inventory control and warranty
  • Document exceptions or emergencies.
  • Generate report and statistics based on the information collected
  • Copying, filing, and other routine administrative duties as assigned
  • Support quality/ISO, security, safety and training programs applicable

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:  

Unique combinations of both RF communications also computer/ networking skills are required

Must be comfortable with digital technology and connected world.



  • Associates' Degree in the area of EE/EET or equivalent experience with the understanding of RF electronics theory
  • Windows Applications and PC operating knowledge are essential



  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in repairing electronic devices.


Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Under supervision of the Director of Secure Land Communications Programs, follow existing procedures and recommendations,
  • Possess knowledge of the techniques and theories characteristic of electronics, such as a knowledge of basic electricity and electronic theory, algebra, and elementary physics
  • Must be able to interact cordially and productively with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
  • Must possess knowledge of electronic repairs environment
  • Valid state issued driver's license required.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend Technical and Field Manuals.


Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Must be able to speak and write English.
  • Speak/Read French is a significant plus


Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Current knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite to include Visio.
  • Be able to adjust quickly in digitalized technology

Travel Required:

  • Up to 10% North America / Europe

Decision Making, Complexity:

  • Analyze if a defective product needs to be sent back to factory for repair under warranty
  • Propose to management alternative if a defective device is not under warranty
  • Propose the list of parts and accessories to purchase internally to keep a reasonable local stock

Involved Communication on a daily basis with internal parties only.


Physical Requirements:

  • Environment: Work in office environment
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings, able to identify correctly color coded component and wires,
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs for short distance and short period.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs for short distance and short period.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve, replace or work on items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or outside.
  • Walking: able to walk through office
