Position Summary:

The Program Controller's primary responsibilities include control and analysis of Programs through Earned Value Management as well as support with Operating Expense (OPEX) controlling for the business line and proper financial control compliance.


Position Responsibilities:


Program control analysis: 40%

  • Act as Finance Business partner of the Space Business Line
  • Plan, track, and monitor various projects, including updating program requirements and spend plans as necessary
  • Analyze program performance and progress and determine if planned resources are sufficient to accomplish assigned goals and objectives; propose resource adjustments as required
  • Oversee financial management and analysis of contract milestones and tasks (deliverables, changes, contractual obligations)
  • Provide support and analysis in all areas of program control and business management in support of both program and company deliverables
  • Support the formulation and review of budget estimates and requirements for new and existing initiatives
  • Support preparation of financial statements, monitor, analyze, & communicate on its progress and changes
  • Prepare and present program and business / financial information to the Head of Program and Program Managers
  • Support preparation of program and business / financial information for presentations ultimately for Executive management
  • Prepare financial information in support of monthly financial closes
  • Support regular Business and Financial reviews with the Business Line to support achievement of financial targets
  • Prepare assessments and analyses to manage company expenses and support executive decision-making

Planning & Forecasting: 20%

  • Support preparation of Cash planning, including the Space BL and Airbus U.S. Operating expenses
  • Support detailed planning for Airbus U.S. in alignment with each of the Business Lines and other Functions and Business Controllers
  • Actively participate in the preparation of quarterly planning activities (including Forecast (FC) I, II, III, and yearend (YE) Outlook) in alignment with the Business and the rest of the Finance functions
  • Prepare Estimates at Completion and ad hoc forecasts as needed
  • Actively support preparation of the company's Operating Plan

Reporting: 20%

  • Prepare and provide monthly business briefings and financial reports for the Space Business Line to guide decision making
  • Prepare briefings and reports on OPEX for Space Business Line and Airbus U.S. overall to guide decision making
  • Provide briefing on OPEX to challenge expenditures and look for cost savings in support of company financial health

Finance Compliance: 15%

  • Ensure Space Business line activities are in line with Key Financial Controls and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance and proper reporting of main KPIs
  • Coordinate with different departments to complete business objectives in compliant and efficient manner
  • Support annual audits and self-assessments for the Space Business Line and Airbus U.S. overall

Additional Responsibilities: 5%

  • This position is not intended to be all-inclusive and the employee will also perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Finance related field or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: MBA or Master's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Required:
    • 3 - 7 financial analyst years of experience
    • Experience with financial tools, contracts, budgeting
    • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems

Preferred:

    • Experience in aerospace and defense industry preferred
    • Experience in government contracting preferred
    • Experience in complex business environment preferred
    • Experience in fast-paced environment preferred
    • Experience with Deltek Cobra preferred

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred experience with Deltek or SAP (ERPs)

Travel Required:

  • 10% Domestic & International

  • Role includes involved communication with internal parties only on a regular basis.

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 50%
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, electronic equipment and/or supplies up to 40lbs/9kg
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, electronic equipment and/or supplies up to 40lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
