Position Summary:

The Business/Program Intern position supports a variety of Business Development, Proposal, and Program execution tasks and projects to meet customer and technical requirements. Preferred locations: Arlington VA, Denver CO or Merritt Island, FL.

Day-to-day activities: 90%

  • Assist space systems team in a variety of capacities.
  • Assist in development of proposals, white papers, presentations, reports and other documents.
  • Support Space Strategy / New Business as needed.
  • Support Space Programs as needed
  • Responsible to communicate regularly and report to the Head of U.S. Space Systems on work in process and the status of assigned projects.
  • Will participate in AIRBUS U.S. team meetings, both internally and with external stakeholders.
  • Research new projects and ideas as directed
  • Perform support with special projects to meet deadlines as required.

Additional duties as required: 10%

Qualified / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in or having received an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university majoring in science, technology, engineering, or related field.
  • Possess an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Prior internship or related project experience, in STEM-related or space field desired.
  • Basic data entry, word processing skills required. Strong PowerPoint skills a plus.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently part of the time.
  • Achieve high level of accuracy of work.
  • Must be dependable with attendance and follow-through.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and plan work activities.
  • Exhibit flexible attitude and approach to assignments.
  • Collaborative approach, with entrepreneurial spirit and creative problem-solving

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite

Travel Required:

  • 5% Domestic

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship

Nature of Contacts: Moderate Communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties.
