Position Summary:

The Systems Engineering Intern position supports a variety of Engineering tasks and projects to meet customer and technical requirements. Preferred locations: Arlington VA, Denver CO or Merritt Island, FL.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Day-to-day activities
  • Will participate in the Systems Engineering process for Satellite Programs, including requirements definition, system validation, verification, analysis, and reporting
  • Responsible to communicate regularly and report to Systems Engineers on work in process and the status of assigned projects
  • Will participate in AIRBUS U.S. team meetings and reviews
  • Research processes and tools, both to improve Satellite products and business efficiency
  • Perform support with special projects to meet deadlines as required

Qualified / Skills / Training:


  • Currently enrolled in or having received an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university majoring in science, technology, engineering or related field.
  • Possess an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:


  • Prior internship or related work experience
  • Basic data entry and word processing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Must be dependable with attendance and follow instructions and directions accurately
  • Exhibit flexible attitude and approach to assignments

Interest in one or more of the following areas desired:

  • Satellite / Spacecraft Design and the Space Environment
  • Technical computing platforms - MatLab or Python or similar
  • Systems budgeting and design

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite

Travel Required:

  • 0% Domestic


  • U.S. Citizenship

Nature of Contacts:

Moderate Communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties.
